My motto is that only the best hits deserve to be unleashed on your dance floor. That's why I've built my music archive based on the "Top Hits" principle, which focuses exclusively on the greatest and most danceable hits in music history (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and current).
And this is extremely important, because it means my music selection is pure energy, and only the hits that get you and your guests partying land on the dance floor. It has to be danceable!

I'm totally into Disco Fox & Dance music from the 80s, 90s, 2000s & House Music. I also have a fondness for Classic Rock.
I love playing quiet, familiar songs as background music during dinner before we move on to the party later.
I am a child of the 70s, 80s, and 90s and used to go out to clubs and discos a lot.

If you notice that I've missed music genres like Gabba, Hardstyle, Dubstep, Metal, Ska, or current German "Assi-Rap" (a derogatory term for certain rap styles) in my list above, there's a reason:
I only have songs. that you can dance and celebrate to.
Whether you want to do it foot-tapping, head-banging, or in jumpstyle is up to you.
The music genres just mentioned are simply not suitable for weddings.

The guests will arrive and be welcomed with upbeat "feel-good music." They won't be able to resist the rhythm and will be subconsciously tuned in for the party that follows.
That's why the background music during the champagne reception is so incredibly important and always a standard part of my booking as a DJ. If the right atmosphere isn't created right at the reception, the subsequent party will most likely never be as spectacular as it would be with appropriate champagne reception music.
