Since we are passionate dancers ourselves, it was immediately clear to me that this declaration of love should not be a slow ballad, but a modern, powerful Discofox. A song that combines emotion and movement. One that not only touches but also makes the dance floor shine.
The catchy chorus is deliberately kept clear and direct. It says, without beating around the bush, what is sometimes far too rarely expressed:

The personal story behind „You're Number 1“
Sometimes great love begins with a little white lie.
Gaby was already at the club when we arrived. I had driven there with Bodo, his girlfriend, and a few other friends. While the others went inside, I stayed by the cloakroom for a moment. When I joined them a little later, Bodo came up to me grinning and said:
„Gaby would really like to dance with you, but she's too shy to ask.“
What I didn't know back then: She had never said that.
It was simply Bodo's idea.
But for me, that was more than enough. I walked straight up to her, took her by the hand – and we went onto the dance floor.
My first thought?
„Wow... she's really beautiful.“
Your first thought?
„I wonder if he can dance?“
The DJ played disco fox – and we didn't stop for a whole hour. Song after song, turn after turn. No hesitation. No thinking. Just music, rhythm, and that special feeling you can't explain.
Only later did we go back to the table and start talking.
But actually, that first dance had already decided everything.

Creation & production of the song

In production, the focus was on a contemporary disco fox sound with a clear structure and a strong hookline.
