to „Stumblin’ In“ and „Islands in the Stream“ the idea of occasionally giving great classics a new musical guise had long been born. With „You're My Heart, You're My Soul“ now follows the third reinterpretation of this kind – and this time the choice fell on arguably one of the best-known German pop exports of the 1980s.
Remaking such a classic, however, is a special challenge. Because especially with a song that millions of people have known for decades, the unmistakable recognition value must not be lost. At the same time, it shouldn't just be a mere copy of the original.
That was precisely the appeal of the production.
