Why I'm a DJ with Heart and Soul – and What Stray Dogs Have to Do With It

Why I'm a DJ with Heart and Passion – and what stray dogs have to do with itDJ rescues dogsWhen I'm at a wedding, with three generations dancing together and people celebrating that one special moment, it fills me up. Music connects. Music creates memories. Music makes people happy.

Why I'm a DJ with Heart and Passion

But there's another reason why I pursue my profession as a DJ with so much passion.

With every wedding booked, with every party, with every event, I help rescue dogs from kill shelters.

Many don't know that. And that's precisely why I'm writing these lines.

The report from the ARD media library

In the ARD Media Library Is a moving segment from the show currently playing Animals are looking for a home:
Andrea Sawatzki – Romania's Forgotten Dogs“.

You can watch the moving reportage in the ARD media library here
I cried the whole time, like a crying dog.

Just the scene where a small puppy was found dead in the snow, its little head stuck in a can, likely having suffocated and frozen to death, tore my heart to pieces 💔

The report shows what many don't want to see.
Crowded stations.
Forgotten Souls.
Dogs who just want to live.

I know these pictures.
Not just from television.
Rather, from conversations with animal welfare advocates, from personal experiences, from encounters with dogs that live with loving families today – because someone didn't look away.

DJ GerreG's Social Commitment - Celebrate - Help - Save Lives

Every party helps

Perhaps it sounds unusual for a wedding DJ to talk about animal welfare.

But for me, that belongs together.

Because:

Every wedding I attend,
every company party,
Every missed party

enables me to, To support projects, make donations, and help concretely.

Without music.
No orders.
No orders.
No rescued dogs.

It's that simple.

If you're not good to animals, you can't be a good person.

This sentence has accompanied me for a very long time.

It's not a marketing slogan.
He is my stance.
to 100%!

As an animal lover and animal rights activist, I also run the virtual pet cemetery tierfriedhof.net, where pet owners can create a memorial for their deceased pets free of charge. Many people grieve deeply for their loyal companions – and it was precisely for these people that I wanted to create a special musical place of remembrance.

That's why I have the song If Love Remains specifically written for this page and for grieving animal lovers. The title – and especially the accompanying music video – has become incredibly emotional.

The same was true for my song We'll see each other again, sometime, which I wrote for my friend Sven, who sadly passed away too soon. Both songs are very personal and came from genuine feelings.

What particularly touches me is that I've received an incredible amount of feedback from people about these songs. Messages from people writing that they cried while listening, that they feel understood, or that a song gave them comfort in a difficult moment.

That means a lot to me. Because music can not only create a party atmosphere and get people on the dance floor, but it can also express feelings, preserve memories, and touch hearts.

If my music can do both – give joy and Offering comfort is something very special to me.

I firmly believe that compassion is not a side issue – but a measure of humanity.

And if I can contribute to a dog from a kill shelter finding a home through my work as a DJ, then that's worth more than any full dance floor.

Even though I love full dance floors.

Why I'm writing this

Because I want to be transparent.
Because I want to take a stand.
And because I believe that you can combine career and values.

When you book me as a DJ, you're not just booking music.
You also support a belief.

Music with heart.
Celebrate with purpose.
Feel the Music – and help save lives.

THANK YOU for celebrating with DJ GerreG in such large numbers!
This allowed me to save 25 dog lives in the last year alone!!!

THANK YOU!
